How do I know when I need a replaster?

The condition of your pool’s plaster will be critical in deciding if it needs replastered. Plaster that is cracking, scaling, or discoloring may need replacing. Other signs frequently include cloudy water and increased algae growth, which can occur from imperfections in the old plaster. Replastering your pool every 10 – 15 years is also a good idea, as this will help keep it looking and functioning optimally.

What does the Re-plastering Process Entail?

At Nola Pool Cleaner of Chalmette, we use only the highest quality materials for replastering. Our team of experienced professionals will first prepare the pool by draining it and removing the old plaster. Special care is taken to ensure that all traces of the old application are removed before applying a fresh coat of plaster. Once the new plaster has been applied, we fill the pool with water, add chemicals and check for leaks or imperfections.

Can I color the plaster?

Yes! At Nola Pool Cleaner of Chalmette, we offer a range of plaster color options and unique finishes. From classic white to shimmering quartz or even tile finishes, you’ll find an option that suits your needs and tastes.

Different color plasters give your pool a different look.

White Plaster: This gives you the crystal blue water look; this is the traditional plaster finish.

Blue Plaster: The blue shade you select for your pool will determine the overall appearance. A midnight blue plaster creates a look of sapphire gems, while a Tahoe blue is more classic and subdued. Consider the manufacturer’s variations in shades when making your decision. Whichever color you choose, it nicely complements a light-colored deck around the pool area.

Green Plaster: Green brightly-colored plasters are commonly found in resorts and usually have a light aqua watercolor that makes the pool look more like it’s in a tropical location.

Teal Colored: Many pool owners opt for teal-colored plaster because it resembles the pools you’d find in an exotic Asian villa. It is also distinct and darker than green plaster, translating into a more uniform watercolor throughout the collection.

Gray Plaster: Medium gray is a flexible choice for your pool’s plaster, as it goes well with light and dark decks. The muted look won’t show water stains as much, giving your collection a luxurious feel.

Dark Gray Plaster:  Dark plasters create a luxurious feel for your pool. This dark gray plaster is contrasted beautifully with the stone deck, as well as the dark stone wall featuring black water feature accents.

The reflective qualities of darker waters are enhanced, giving them a natural lake-like appearance. If you choose to go with black plaster, Beware! It can look like you’ve got an oil spill in your backyard. Although, the reflection of the sky and the environment of the surface will be breathtaking.

How much does a pool replaster cost?

The cost of replastering depends on several factors, including the size and shape of your pool, the type of plaster you choose, and any additional features or services you might need. At Nola Pool Cleaner of Chalmette, we use only high-quality materials and offer competitive prices for all our services. Contact us today for a free estimate.

Review Our Business

Adam did a great job cleaning our pool in Chalmette. We had a one-time pool cleaning, and he was very thorough. He vacuumed the pool, skimmed the surface, brushed the walls and floor, emptied all of the baskets and also added chemicals to balance out the water. He even power-washed and swept up around the area! We’re definitely going to use his services again.
